Imagine yourself surrounded by lush green hills, breathing in crisp mountain air as you gaze upon a breathtaking panorama of the Annapurna mountain range. Witness iconic peaks like Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Hiunchuli standing tall against the clear blue sky.
More Than Just Stunning Scenery
This hike isn’t just about the views, although they are truly unforgettable. This moderately challenging trek allows you to experience the rich culture of Nepal. Along the way, you’ll encounter charming villages where the friendly Nepali people will welcome you with open arms. Enjoy a cup of hot yak butter tea in a cozy teahouse and immerse yourself in the local way of life.

Overview of Australian Base Camp
The Adventure Begins:
Your journey starts right from your hotel. Imagine waking up, getting ready, and being picked up by a friendly guide. By either 8 am or 8:30 am, depending on what time you pick, the adventure kicks off. A drive will take you to Hemja, the place where your feet first meet the trail. With every step, you’re closer to the Australian Base Camp!
Making Friends at ASTAM and DHITAL:
As you walk, you’ll pass through beautiful villages. First, there’s ASTAM, where you can sip on some tea and take in the fresh countryside air. Then, after some more walking, you’ll get to DHITAL VILLAGE. Here, you can pause, snap some photos, and enjoy the view. Mountains, trees, and open skies – it’s like walking inside a giant postcard!
Lunch at DHAMPUS:
DHAMPUS is another wonderful village on your path. This place is special. Why? Because if the weather is right, you’ll see huge mountains, like Annapurna, right in front of you. And guess what? This is also where you’ll have lunch. Yum!

The final stop for the day is, of course, the Australian Base Camp. Imagine sleeping so close to the stars! Here, you can enjoy tasty local foods and have a cozy sleep in a lodge or hotel.
Good Morning, Sunshine!
Next day, get up early. Why? For the sunrise! Watching the day begin from the Australian Base Camp is magical. Once you’ve had breakfast, it’s time to head back down. Don’t worry; we’ve arranged a comfortable drive back to Pokhara after a short hike down to Kande. And before you know it, you’ll be back at your hotel, with stories to tell.
